Our UNESCO Chair is substantially involved (e.g., as advisors, Principal Investigators, work package leaders, and contributing researchers).

SUSFLOW – Co-Chair Jokinen leads the Work Package (WP) on networked foresight among 12 shipbuilding companies. The WP focuses on flows of futures information and includes a futures literacy workshop for cruise ship industry business leaders in Miami. The project is co-led by UTU and VTT and is funded by Business Finland. It started January 2023 and continues through February 2025.

FuLiBRe (Futures Literacy for Business Renewal) is advised by Chairholder Wilenius, led by Co-Chair Jokinen, and implemented by doctoral researchers Balcom Raleigh (Co-Chair) and Martyn Richards. The project aims to co-create futures literacy games and interventions with shipbuilding supply chain companies active in sustainability innovation. It is funded by Liikesivistysrahasto from January 2024 to March 2025. 

ECOCRIN (Sustainable and Innovative Creative Ecosystems: Ecological Approach to Policy Innovation for Creative Sectors in Finland) is an international consortium led by Jarna Heinonen (University of Turku, Entrepreneurship). Co-Chairholder Siivonen leads the FFRC team which includes Senior Research Fellow Pauliina Latvala-Harvilahti and Project Researcher Amos Taylor. This team brings expertise in participatory futures methods, the interface between heritage, cultural policy and communities, and media research. It is funded by Business Finland, from 2023 to 2025. IN SITU, Place-based innovation of cultural and creative industries in non-urban areas, is led by Nancy Duxbury (University of Coimbra, CES) with Co-Chairholder Siivonen (University of Turku, FFRC) as co-leader of the Finnish LAB with Professor Maunu Häyrynen (Landscape Studies). Funded by EC Horizon Europe for 2022 to 2026. https://insituculture.eu/.

SISU (Sufficiency solutions for a resilient, green, and just Finland) is led by Professor Arto O. Salonen (University of Eastern Finland) with Co-Chairholder Siivonen (University of Turku, FFRC) as deputy leader, subproject leader and work package leader. It is funded by the Academy of Finland Strategic Research Council under its Just Transition program for 2023-2026 with the possibility to apply for extended funding 2026-2029. https://sisu-stn.fi/
